Fuel treated with EDT is a “PREMIUM” diesel fuel. Every diesel engine would benefit from EDT! Condensed water in fuels is a major cause of rust, icing in cold weather and the growth of microorganisms in warm weather. Operation of diesel engines is noticeably improved when corrosion and growth of bacteria are prevented. EDT contains an exclusive polar lubricity additive to prevent wear without altering fuel viscosity.
The Science
EDT is extremely effective in middle distillate fuels to improve combustion and ignition efficiency, enhance fuel economy and maintain fuel in a clean, stabilized condition. The sulfur content of this diesel fuel additive does not exceed 15 ppm
The reason for better performance with EDT is that cetane improvement in the fuel gives a smoother, less erratic pressure buildup in the combustion chamber during the ignition delay period which occurs between injection and ignition.

Well let me first off by saying what i own. 2011 f250 6.7l with 220k on the dash. It was an old fleet truck that had all its major services done like fluids front to rear but neglected on things like fuel filters and air filters, the day i aquired the truck it was extremely sluggish, slow to respond not only because of the vgt but due to a few factors. After discovering the intial issues, simple ones at that things were remedied, the replacement of these simple yet crucial filters. After having done this i drove the truck another 1000k with no real improvements, though my mind was at rest especially with the fuel filters and the dreaded cp4 fuel pump issues these and many other diesels of this era have. I found on hotshots ford forum trying to chase gremlins, lubricate this nightmare fuel pump or clean this things up internally by taking everything apart or accepting it had just been that neglected or hogged on and id never experienced what the truck could have offered if other steps would have been taken. Something else to also note is that the truck had odd shifting patterns, late shifts, hard shifts, almost seemed to have internal clutch slipping issues. Im not at all suggesting that a fuel treatment, had in anyway affected the internals of the transmission but after having gone through the first fuel treatment noticed immediately the truck not only had a bit more get up and go but also was quieter, engine idle less sporadic and the transmission started shifting as it should. I guarantee the trucks injectors were full of crap, as was the internal workings of the fuel system something no one with a bosch cp4 wants to hear, pretty much death. Now after 5k miles of use im convinced it genuinely works, not only as a cetaine booster to help give you a bit more umph but also as a lubricant to keep our very fragile but extremely effective fuel pumps nice and healthy. Ive also noted that upon draining the fuel water separator after having used the product it definitely does help with getting the water out of fuel, im no scientist, i just observe what i see especially after consistently using the same fuel stations with quality winterized American diesel. My fuel mileage also went up a few mpgs, this is doing the hard math not relying on the dash computer though ill admit its almost spot on. Im very skeptical about treatments, theres one other i use in gasoline i wont advocate for here as thats counter productive, that actually works and things like hotshots has me convinced treatments of certain calibers do indeed work and do indeed have an effect especially if used as a regimen. Ill in the future be trying the friction reducer or stiction eliminator but seeings how my 6.7l doesn’t have the same fuel system as a 6.0 or 7.3l maybe ill just give both a go? Im looking to get a million miles out of this ford, and i believe that not only with the proper maintenance and care but also hotshots this is achievable with no major component swaps or add ons. I work for a mine in montana, ill be sure to tell all my diesel loving coworkers and perhaps i can get the guy in charge of purchasing to give it a trial, especially if it keeps DPF filters cleaner thats a bonus underground where its hard to get parts shipped into on a daily.
